Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners

A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners was held Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 7:58 p.m., in the Jenks/JMW Complex for the Performing and Visual Arts Media Center, 350 Division Street, Pawtucket, RI.

Present – President Mercer, Councilors Araujo, Coderre, Gregor, Moran, Moreno, Rubio, Stachowiak and Wildenhain.

Absent – 0.

Chairperson Mercer presided.

The reading of the records of February 21, 2024 was dispensed with and the records were APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk,

Upon motion made by Councilor Araujo, seconded by Councilor Moreno, the *Consent Agenda was APPROVED, on a unanimous voice vote.

REPORT ON THE MARCH 6, 2024 CITY COUNCIL LICENSE COMMITTEE.MEETING, REGARDING SPECIAL EVENT ISSUES ON MAIN STREET

Chairperson Stachowiak stated that the meeting was productive. The committee got its points across about the need for licensing and they got suggestions from property owner.

DUE TO THE CHANGE OF LOCATION OF THE BOARD MEETING AND WITH NO ONE PRESENT TO SPEAK, THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC HEARING WAS CONTINUED AND THE APPLICATION FOR LICENSE WAS POSTPONED UNTIL MARCH 20, 2024, ON A UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE:

With majority consent of the Board, the following motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Wildenhain, was PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:

The Clerk was instructed to issue a summons to Happy Hour Club, 404 Benefit Street, to appear at an INFORMAL HEARING on Wednesday March 20, 2024, for the following reason:

The City Council wishes to discuss with the license holder about complaints regarding loud noise and being in the establishment after hours.
