A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners was held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 7:03 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.

 

Present – President Mercer, Councilors Araujo, Coderre, Gregor, Moran, Moreno, Rubio, Stachowiak and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – 0.

 

Chairperson Mercer presided.

 

 

The reading of the records of June 5, 2024 was dispensed with and the records were APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.06/05/2024)

Upon motion made by Councilor Araujo, seconded by Councilor Moran, the agenda was amended to include the following objections, on a unanimous voice vote:

 

Communication from Gregory A. Mancini, Esq., Sinapi Law Associates, to the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners, objecting to the transfer of the Class A Liquor License of East Street Liquors (Manmar Inc.) to East Street Liquors (Sai Ram LLC) 183 East Street, in the total amount of $11,066 for Mancini Beverage and $9,562.00 for Horizon Beverage.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Araujo, seconded by Councilor Moran, the following objections were READ AND ORDERED FILED:

A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE FOLLOWING APPLICATION FOR LICENSE, WHICH WAS ADVERTISED FOR A HEARING AT THIS TIME, WAS TAKEN UP:

Speaking is Beau Akers, Attorney, 1543 Fall River Avenue, Seekonk, MA, and Tejas Patel, 400 Newport Avenue, Rumford, RI, applicant.

 

Mr. Akers stated that Ms. Sonali Patel is TIPS Certified, all others employees will be as well.  There will be no changes to the business or hours of operation. 

 

He noted that Ms. Patel worked at the Ramada Inn.

 

Mr. Patel stated that he has worked at liquor establishments in Rehoboth.

 

There were no other speakers.  The hearing was closed.
