A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners was held Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 6:58 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. Video

 

Present – President Mercer, Councilors Araujo, Coderre, Gregor, Moran, Moreno, Rubio and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilor Stachowiak.

Ms. Velasco stated that they would like to extend the hours.  People like to come late.

 

Mrs. Duque has owned the business for 1 year and 5 months.

 

They are closed on Monday and Tuesday.

 

 

Speaking was Ron Allard, 166 Suffolk Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.

 

Mr. Allard has property diagonally across from the restaurant.  He has a 4ft fence on Suffolk and Grand Avenues. He is concerned that he will lose privacy and parking in front of his house.

 

 

Speaking was John Donovan, 133 Suffolk Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.

 

Mr. Donovan has four young children. He has bedrooms 60 ft from the restaurant.

 

He was concerned about noise, language, blocking of the sidewalk.  He was also concerned about ending outdoor seating at 10:00 p.m.

 

Mr. Donovan asked how many people will be at the four outdoor tables. He opposed the outdoor seating.

 

He stated that no reasons were given why this is necessary. He was ok with longer hours inside.

 

 

Speaking is Nelson Reynolds, 139 Suffolk Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.

 

Mr. Reynolds opposed outdoor seating in a residential neighborhood.  He also opposed longer hours. There was no off-street parking.

 

 

Ms. Velasco stated that she will close outdoor seating by 8:00 or 8:30 p.m.

 

There were no other speakers. The hearing was closed.
