A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at 6:47 p.m., via videoconference on ZOOM during the COVID-19 pandemic, per Governor’s order 21-40.

 

Present – Chairperson Moran, Councilors Araujo, DaRosa, Mercer, Schuette and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilors Rudd and Vasquez.

Speaking is Natalia Lopera, (through an interpreter) 32 Ibea Street, Pawtucket, RI, applicant.

 

Ms. Lopera states that she used to have a restaurant in Central Falls for 3 years, there were no problems.

 

She has two bartenders, four waiters, two managers, and other staff.  They all will be TIPS Certified.

 

She will have private security.

 

She will have music that she will keep low; she wants to be a family restaurant.

 

The restaurant will be open until 1:00 a.m.

 

She will have outdoor seating on the patio.

 

She stated that the decision on the license should not be based on the past owner.

 

It will be more elegant, no loud music.

 

She is working with a company for security – will check on certification.

 

She will have two security people; one at each door.

 

She has no problem with one detail officer there.

 

She states that it will be frustrating if she can’t have the patio open. The patio will be enclosed, and customers will enter only through the restaurant, not from the lot.

 

She wants an entertainment license, but there will be no entertainment at first.

 

There are no other speakers.
