A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at 7:21 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. Video

 

Present – Councilors Araujo, DaRosa, Gregor, Mercer, Rudd, Schuette, Vasquez and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – President Moran.

 

Vice Chairperson Mercer presides.

Councilor Wildenhain notes that with the fencing up around the outside tables, there isn’t enough room for wheelchairs on the sidewalk. There needs to be at least 3 ft 6 in. of room.  The councilor is ok with the tables outside as long as the fencing is down and the tables are against the building.

 

Mr. Santillan is agreeable to this.

 

It will be Mexican restaurant.

 

Mr. Santillan has two other restaurants.

With majority consent of the Board, the following motion made by Councilor Rudd, seconded by Councilor Wildenhain, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:

 

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Tina Goncalves, Chief of Police, requesting that she schedule details at the International Club and Billar, 327 Barton Street, on Friday and Saturday nights, starting this weekend (August 13 and 14, 2021) and continuing until a formal hearing, which is currently scheduled for September 8, 2021, is held.

 

The Board is requesting one squad car, with two officers, to be outside the establishment from 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

 

Because the Board was unable to hold the formal hearing on August 11, 2021, as originally scheduled, they cannot require the establishment to pay for the details; therefore, the Board is requesting that details be paid by the city.
