A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at 7:09 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Present – Chairperson Moran, Councilors Araujo, Barry, Mercer, Rudd, Vasquez, Vitali and Wildenhain.
Absent – Councilor Kallman.
Chairperson Moran presides.
The reading of the records of January 22, 2020 is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.

Speaking in favor is Rafael Perez, 707 Broadway, Pawtucket, RI, applicant.
Mr. Perez states that he does auto repair. He worked in the auto repair business for seven years in Boston.
His brother and son will work with him. The hours will be Mondays thru Fridays 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
There will be no vehicles on the street. He has four bays, but he will work in three. He will not be selling tires.
Also speaking is Carlos Cortes, 715 Broadway, Pawtucket, RI.
Mr. Cortes states that there is already five auto parts stores nearby.
He is concerned that the sale of second-hand parts will result in the place becoming a junkyard. The last owner caused problems with vehicles all over the place.
It is explained that the only used parts Mr. Perez will sell are those used in the repair of vehicles. He will not be selling used parts to the public.

Present is Lucia Arruda, 41 Harrold Street, Worcester, MA, representative.
Ms. Arruda states that two weeks ago they ordered a new open top dumpster for the store. There were problems with the public using the old dumpster. They hired a service to pick-up trash on Mondays and Thursdays. They cleaned up all the trash that was there. The dumpster will be put inside the fencing on Friday and will be locked.
Ms. Arruda is working with the manager to do some clean up the property every morning, but they don’t have the staff to clean up the entire lot every day.
Councilor Wildenhain states that there are similar problems at the Central Avenue store.
