A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at 6:53 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.  Video

 

Present – Chairperson Moran, Councilors Araujo, Barry, Mercer, Vasquez, Vitali and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilor Kallman and Rudd

Communication from Sinapi Law Associates, Ltd., to the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners, objecting to the transfer of Class A Liquor License of Liquor Shoppe (Liquor Shoppe Inc.) to Fernandez Brothers Liquors (Fernandez Brothers Liquors Corp) 155 Broad Street, in the total amount of $19,548.90 for Rhode Island Distributing and $7,348.17 Horizon Beverage.

Speaking in favor is Jennifer Allen, Esq., 3 Pearl Street, Stoughton, MA, attorney for the applicant and Rafael Fernandez, 10 Elmwood CT, Mansfield, MA, the applicant.

 

Ms. Allen states that her client purchased the business and property.

 

Mr. Fernandez has been in liquor business for 15 years, he will run the business.

 

He states that this will be his only store and there will be no employees at this time.  The hours will be the same.

 

Ms. Allen states that her client never had any violations in Massachusetts.

 

 

Also speaking is Alexander Parmenidez, 13 Elias Street, Cumberland, RI.

 

Mr. Parmenidez states that he was the real estate agent that was helping with the land purchase.  He states that Mr. Fernandez was looking for a property in Rhode Island.  He will be working with the Pawtucket Business Development Corporation.

Upon motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Councilors Araujo, Barry and Vitali, the following license is APPROVED with the following amendment and stipulation, on a majority voice vote:
