A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at 7:42 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.  Video

Mr. Soto states that he will be doing auto repair, brakes, tires, shocks, but mostly used tires.

 

He plans to keep some tires in the back of the building, but mostly inside.

 

Councilor Barry asks if he thinks people want to see racks of tires outside the building.

 

Mr. Soto states that he will keep them all inside if the Council wants him to.

 

The hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday thru Saturday.

 

Councilor Barry asks if he would close at 4:00 p.m., on Saturday.

 

Mrs. Soto states yes.

 

 

Also speaking is Luis Rosario, 9 Quincy Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.

 

Mr. Rosario states that his driveway abuts the property.

 

He wants the entrance to be on Main Street. People now block his driveway; using only the Main Street entrance would help.  Otherwise, he has no problems.

 

 

Also speaking is Eddy Almonte, 900m Douglas Avenue, Providence, RI.

 

Mr. Almonte states that he will be doing the books for the business.

 

He states that they would never leave tires outside overnight.

 

The dumpster has been removed.

 

They have racks to keep tires in outside during the day.

 

Councilor Barry states that he doesn’t want the racks outside.

 

Mr. Almonte states that they will do a sign instead.

 

There are no other speakers.

3.         If inoperable vehicles, automotive parts or trash is to be stored out of doors, the applicant shall maintain and/or erect a commercial opaque fence six feet in height along the south and west lines, to provide vehicular lines of sight.

 

Present is Rafeal Sandoval, 26 Lillian Avenue, Providence, RI.

 

Also present is Attorney for the applicant Chris Fragomens, 1080 Main Street, Pawtucket, RI.

 

Mr. Sandoval states that he will have 20-30 cars outside; the rest will be inside.

 

He states that there is a fence there.

 

Councilor Kallman states that he should have people testing the cars respectfully.  No speeding.

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MERCER.

 

With majority consent of the Board, the following motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Councilor Vitali, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:

 

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to all the neighbors on Dean Street to notify them of the event that will take place on July 1 and 2, 2017, at Galito Restaurant, 214 Columbus Avenue, in the parking lot.
