A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at 6:57 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Present – Chairperson Moran, Councilors, Bray, Hodge, Mercer, Rudd and Tetreault.
Absent – Councilors Barry, Cano and Wildenhain.
Chairperson Moran presides.
The reading of the records of June 8, 2016 is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.

Speaking in favor is Michael Horan, Attorney for the applicant. Also present is Isabella Kalia, 211 Central Street, Norwood, MA, applicant.
Mr. Horan states that this is a transfer of ownership.
Ms. Kalia states that she owned a liquor store in MA for about eight years.
Her partners all have retail experience.
The hours will be the same as Olivera’s. Monday thru Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sunday 12 Noon to 10:00 p.m.
She will be working at the liquor store along with her partners. She will hire others.
Mr. Horan states that they understand that all claims must be paid.
There are no other speakers.

With majority consent of the Board, the following motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Councilor Hodge, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to all Class D Liquor License Holders to remind them of the specific rules of holding a Class D (Private Club) License.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MERCER.
With majority consent of the Board, the following motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Councilor Hodge, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Paul King, Chief of Police, regarding the Polish American Citizens Club at 244 Annie Street.
The board has been informed of several violations of the Club’s Class D liquor license, including people drinking alcohol outside of the building and the club staying open well past the mandatory 1:00 a.m. closing time, especially on Friday and Saturday night. The board is requesting that police officers check the club, especially on Fridays and weekends to ensure there is no outside drinking and that the club is closed by 1:00 a.m.

The Clerk is instructed to issue a summons to Polish American Citizens Club, 244 Annie Street, to appear at an INFORMAL HEARING on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, for the following reasons:
To discuss the recent violations of operating after hours.
