A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 7:02 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. 

 

Present – Chairperson Moran, Councilors, Barry, Bray, Cano, Hodge, Mercer, Rudd, Tetreault and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – 0

Speaking in favor is Joseph Sciacca, Esq., 121 Phoenix Avenue, Cranston, RI, Attorney for the applicant. Also present is Alfred Castiglioni, 56 South Eagle Nest Drive, Lincoln, RI, applicant.

 

Also present is Robert Peretti, Esq., 1536 Westminster Street, Providence, RI, Attorney for the current license holder.  Also present is Alison Martins, 12 Kensignton Road, Attleboro, MA, current license holder.

 

Attorney Sciacca states that the applicant, Mr. Castiglioni, owns other restaurants. 

 

Mr. Castiglioni states that he has no plans for changes at this time and no entertainment for the first few months.  He hopes to open in August.  He does not intend to have banquets at this time.  There will be 45-50 employees.  He will open at 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and 2:00 p.m. on weekends.  If they decide to do entertainment, it will only be a 1-2 piece band, if at all.

 

There are no other speakers.

Ms. Dourado states that on April 15, 2016, the bar was closed and they were having a birthday party with friends.  She states that she wasn’t selling anything.

 

She states that on May 15, 2016, the people at the bar left shortly after 1:00 a.m.

 

Councilor Rudd reads her the police reports.

 

Ms. Dourado states that she cannot fit 70 people in her establishment.

 

Councilor Rudd states that it is against the law for her establishment to be open after 1:00 a.m.

He states that if this happens again, there will be a Formal Hearing on this license.
