A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at 6:58 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.  

 

Present – Chairperson Moran, Councilors, Barry, Bray, Cano, Hodge, Mercer, Rudd, Tetreault and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – 0.

 

Chairperson Moran presides.

 

 

The reading of the records of December 21, 2015 is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.

CLASS T (Theater) transfer of location -

 

House of Mood (JM Kennedy Entertainment LLC) 17-21 Broad Street, LIC#11263 (transfer of location from 461 Main Street)

 

Speaking in favor is Jennifer Harricharan, 18 Hazael Street, Providence, RI, applicant.

 

Ms. Harricharan states that they have a cabaret and performing arts theater with music, singing, dance and other live performances.  They do shows once a month.

 

She states that the people come from around New England to see the show, with up to 60 people at the show.  The shows are very unique.

 

Speaking in favor is Alana Marseglia, 53 Carnation Drive, Cranston, RI.

 

Ms. Marseglia states that she worked with Jennifer Harricharan for 7 years. She is an instructor and performer.  They do all forms of dance at the theater and get a lot of good feedback.

 

Ms. Harricharan states that they like to do shows for people over 30.

 

The theater doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the show starts at 8:30 p.m., usually lasting 1½ to 2 hours.  There is parking in the city garage.

 

The theater is in the pie-shaped (McDevitt) building, in the former yoga studio space.

 

There are usually 6-8 performers per show.

 

There are no other speakers.

 

The hearing is closed.

 

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR RUDD.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Rudd, seconded by Councilor Cando, the following license is APPROVED, on a unanimous voice vote:
