A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at 8:20 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. 

 

Present – Chairperson Moran, Councilors, Cano, Hodge, Mercer, Rudd, Tetreault and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilors Barry and Bray.

 

Chairperson Moran presides.

Communication from 350 Benefit Street LLC to the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners, objecting to the transfer of location of the Class A liquor license of  JR Sav-On Liquors (Aurora Enterprises LLC) 350 Benefit Street to 50Ann Mary Street, in the amount of $3,774.77

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Tetreault, the following communication is READ AND ORDERED FILED:

Mr. Fitzgerald states that his lease expires this month. He reads the claim letter from 350 Benefit Street LLC and agrees that the payments are due.  He will make the payments in the letter.

 

He states that he is excited to move to Ann Mary Street. He thinks he will do well there.

 

He will move his inventory by the end of this month.

 

Mr. Fitzgerald presents a letter of support from OSJ of Providence, LLC, 375 Commerce Park Road, North Kingston, RI, which is made part of the record.

 

Also present is Michael Nolette, 48 Barberry Drive, Seekonk, MA.

 

Mr. Nolette states that the rent was due May 1, and now is past due. Also Mr. Fitzgerald is overdue on his payment to the Narragansett Bay Commission.

Upon motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Councilors Hodge and Wildenhain, the following license is APPROVED PENDING THE SETTLEMENT OF ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS, on a unanimous voice vote:

Communication from Jose Galvao, President, Fidjos Didjabraba, Cape Verdean Social Club, 682 Roosevelt Avenue, for permission to sell alcohol outside in the parking lot at cookouts on Sundays, June 14, June 28, July 26, September 6, 2015, and Saturday August 15, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. is READ AND ORDERED FILED AND THE REQUEST IS APPROVED WITH THE PRIOR YEAR STIPULATIONS IN PLACE AND AN ADDITIONAL STIPULATION ADDED, on a unanimous voice vote.

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Rudd, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:

 

The Clerk is instructed to forward a copy of the letter from Lieutenant Doucet to Kent DaRosa, property owner of 616 Weeden Street and Angel Munoz, owner of the Auto Repair and Second Hand Shop License, Weeden Street Auto, 616 Weeden Street.
