A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at 12:14 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. 

 

Present – Chairperson Moran, Councilors Barros, Barry, Hodge, Mercer, Tetreault and Vitali.

 

Absent – Councilors Rudd and Wildenhain.

 

Chairperson Moran presides.

ENTERTAINMENT -

 

B.  Petition of the Liberian Community Association of Rhode Island, for a license to conduct an Independence Day Celebration, at the Pawtucket Armory, 72 Exchange Street, on Saturday, July 26, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. LIC#10035

 

Speaking in favor of the petition is Winston A. Gould, 502 Plainfield Street, Providence, RI.

 

Mr. Gould states that they are celebrating 167 years of Liberian independence. The event will raise money to maintain the organization.

 

This is a first time event in the City of Pawtucket.

 

Mr. Gould states that they have 3,000-4,000 registered members, and they are expecting 200-250 people at the event.

 

There are no other speakers.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR HODGE.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Barros, the following licenses are APPROVED with the following STIPULATIONS, on a unanimous voice vote:
