A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at 7:14 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. 

 

Present – Chairperson Moran, Councilors Barry, Hodge, Mercer, Rudd, Tetreault, Vitali and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilor Barros.

Also present is Eufrosina Pacheco, 40 Lighthouse View Drive, Middletown, RI.

 

Ms. Pacheco states that the owners want a full liquor license. These owners have been in business for nine years. The business has been running as BYOB.

 

She states that the owners have everything in place for a liquor license. All employees have knowledge to run a liquor establishment. They incorporated the business; everything else is the same. There are fifteen employees; ten are TIPS certified.

 

The hours will be Tuesday thru Thursday 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Friday thru Saturday 4:00 pm to 9:30 pm, and Sunday 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm.

 

The business gets deliveries in the morning. They would like to buy a building in about one year.

 

Also speaking in favor are Michael Ouellette and Deborah Owens, 516 Benefit Street, Pawtucket, RI.

 

They state that their daughter has been working there for 12 years. The liquor will help the business. There have been no problems with BYOB or deliveries.

Mr. Mendes states that the business will impact the quality of his life. He is concerned about bands and the need for the police.
