May 7, 2008

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at 6:50 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. 

 

Present – Chairperson Bray, Councilors Barry, Chadwick, Grebien, Hodge, Kinch, Moran and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilor Carr.

 

Chairperson Bray presides.

 

The reading of the records of April 23, 2008 is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

 

THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC HEARING FOR LICENSE TRANSFER WAS CONTINUED AT THE MEETING HELD APRIL 9, 2008, AND IS AGAIN TAKEN UP:

 

CLASS B (Victualer)

 

Tropical Vibes Corporation d/b/a Tabu Restaurant & Lounge, (Transfer of 75% of stockholders) 17 Exchange Street, LIC#4199

 

Representing the license holder is Maria Alzate, 708 Broad Street, Central Falls, RI; Jorge Bustamonte, 349 Lonsdale Avenue, Pawtucket, RI; George Alzate, 27 Summit Street, Central Falls, RI; and Heider Colonia, 49 Sheridan Street, Centrall Falls, RI; applicants.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR CHADWICK.

 

With majority consent of the Council, Councilor Chadwick introduces the following statement.

Upon motion made by Councilor Chadwick, seconded by Councilor Kinch, the following statement is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

Councilor Chadwick states that he expects the license holders to live by the written plan. They must have detail officers on Fridays and Saturdays for 3 months and the Board shll receive weekly reports by police for 3 months. At the end of the three months, the board will review the stipulations.

 

There are no other speakers.

 

The hearing is closed.

 

COUNCILOR CARR ARRIVES AT 7:02 PM.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR CHADWICK.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Chadwick, seconded by Councilor Kinch, the following license is APPROVED, with the following STIPULATIONS on a unanimous voice vote:

 

CLASS B (Victualer)

STIPULATIONS

 

1.   Detail Officer on every Friday and Saturday for 3 months.

2.   Police report every week for 3 months.

 

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Barry, the meeting is adjourned at 7:04 p.m.
