A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at 5:02 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Present – Chairperson Bray, Councilors Barry, Chadwick, Grebien, Hodge, Moran & Wildenhain.
Absent – Councilors Carr and Kinch.
Chairperson Bray presides.
The reading of the records of June 11, 2008 is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.
COUNCILOR KINCH ARRIVES AT 5:04 P.M.
Communication from Mei King Restaurant, 211 South Bend Street requesting permission to sell food and soda from the parking lot of 211 South Bend on Thursday, July 3, 2008, from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. is READ AND ORDERED FILED AND THE REQUEST IS APPROVED, on a unanimous voice vote.
Communication from Scott Polion, President of the Indian Lounge, to Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners, requesting permission to serve alcoholic beverages in the parking lot of Narragansett Café Inc., d/b/a Indian Lounge, 435 York Avenue, on Thursday, July 3, 2008, from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. is READ AND ORDERED FILED AND THE REQUEST IS APPROVED WITH A 4:00 PM STARTING TIME AND WITH THE FOLLOWING STIPULATION, on a unanimous voice vote.
STIPULATION:
Hire a Pawtucket Police Officer for crowd control.

Petition of Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthox Chuch, 97 Walcott Street, to sell alcoholic beverages at an Annual Church Festival on the Church Grounds, on Friday, August 15, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.; Saturday, August 16, 2008 from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 17, 2008, from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. LIC#4957
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR BARRY.
With majority consent of the Board, the following motion made by Councilor Barry, seconded by Councilor Hodge, is passed on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Virgin Mary Greek Orthox Church, thanking them for the wonderful way that the church runs its festival each year.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MORAN.
Upon motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilors Barry, Hodge and Wildenhein, the stipulations on the liquor license of Garrity Pub & Restaurant, Inc., d/b/a Corinne’s Banquets, 67 Garrity Street, are amended as follows:
4. A detail officer shall be hired for any function with more than 250 people. on Friday and Saturday evenings from 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m.
and add:
6. All doors must be kept closed at all times.
All other stipulations shall remain in affect.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MORAN.
With majority consent of the Board, the following motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Hodge, is passed on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Major Arthur J. Martins, Pawtucket Police Department, to notify him of the changes to the stipulations for the following license:
Garrity Pub & Restaurant, Inc., d/b/a Corinne’s Banquets, 67 Garrity St. LIC#4208 (ent)
1. One member of management shall be on duty at all times.
2. Licensee shall immediately notify District Councilor of any changes at establishment.
3. Pawtucket residents shall be given preference for employment.
4. A detail officer shall be hired on Friday and Saturday evenings from 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m.
5. No storage trailers shall be located on the premises.
6. All doors must be kept closed at all times.
Councilor Moran is asking for a status report on this license in time for the September 24, 2008 Council meeting, including a list of calls to that location.
Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Barry, the meeting is adjourned at 5:14 p.m.
