September 20, 2006

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at 7:16 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. 

 

Present – Chairman Grebien; Councilors Barry, Bray, Carr, Clemente, Hodge and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilor Vitali.

 

Chairman Grebien presides.

 

The reading of the records of September 6, 2006, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

 

The matter of an INFORMAL HEARING regarding the following license is taken up:

 

CLASS B (VICTUALER)

 

Corina’s Pub, Inc. 584 Smithfield Avenue, Pawtucket, RI LIC#10310

 

Councilor Clemente states that he met with the applicant earlier in the evening, and all parties agreed to suspend the Saturday night detail officer until January 1, 2007.                       

 

There are no other speakers.

 

The Hearing is closed.

 

Request from Corina’s Pub, Inc., 584 Smithfield Avenue LIC#10310 to remove stipulation requiring a detail police officer on the Class BV liquor license is READ AND ORDERED FILED and  the Police Officer shall be remove from the Saturday night detail until January 1st 2007.

 

COUNCILOR VITALI ARRIVES AT 7:17 P.M.

 

The matter of an FORMAL HEARING regarding the following license is taken up:

 

CLASS A

 

Fairlawn Wine Company, Inc., 551 Smithfield Avenue, Pawtucket, RI LIC#10285

 

Representing the City of Pawtucket is Frank J. Milos, Jr., Esq., Assistant City Solicitor.

 

Also present is the applicant Alda R. Collins; and Stenographer,  Sandra Bachini Gaboriault.

 

THE DETAIL TESTIMONY IS FILED IN THE VAULT OF THE CITY CLERK’S OFFICE.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR CLEMENTE.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Clemente, seconded by Councilor Barry, the License holder HAS ACCEPTED A PLEA OF NOLO CONTENDRE, AND SHALL PAY A $500.00 FINE, AND LICENSE SHALL BE SUSPENDED FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) DAY, SPECIFICALLY SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2006,  FOR THE FOLLOWING REASON:

 

1.   SELLING INTOXICATING BEVERAGES TO AN UNDERAGE PERSON ON THE LICENSE PREMISES (RIGL 3-8-1), ON OR ABOUT JULY 21, 2006.

Upon motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Hodge, the meeting is adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
