Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners
November 21, 2006
A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at 5:34 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Present – Councilors Barry, Bray, Carr, Clemente, Hodge, Moran, Vitali and Wildenhain.
Absent – Chairman Grebien.
Vice Chairman Moran presides.
The reading of the records of November 8, 2006, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.
AN INFORMAL HEARING on the following is taken up:

Informal Hearing
The first speaker is Joseph Raheb, Attorney, 650 Washington Highway, Lincoln, RI, representing applicant.
John Doherty, 343 East Avenue, Pawtucket, RI, manager of the East Avenue Café.
Mr. Raheb explains that the license holder is in California temporarily with his son. He does own a home here but is not able to be here at this time.
Councilor Barry questions the article that appeared recently in The Times concerning change of ownership at the East Avenue Café.
Mr. Raheb states that the business is not under new ownership; however, they are currently negotiating for the sale of the business with Mr. Doherty.
Councilor Barry states that the Workers Compensation Insurance on file with the license renewal is not complete and asks if there is workers compensation insurance in place.
Mr. Raheb states that he feels it is in place and will bring it into the Clerk’s office tomorrow.

THE FOLLOWING LICENSE FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING DECEMBER 2, 2006 AND ENDING DECEMBER 1, 2007, WAS LAID ON THE TABLE AT THE MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 8, 2006, AND IS AGAIN TAKEN UP AND IS APPROVED PENDING DELIVERY OF THE ACTIVE WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE on a unanimous voice vote:

Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Carr, the meeting is adjourned at 5:41 p.m.
