July 6, 2005

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at 8:02 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. 

 

Present – Chairman Grebien, Councilors Barry, Bray, Carr, Clemente, Hodge, Vitali and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilor Moran. 

 

Chairman Grebien presides.

 

The reading of the records of June 22, 2005, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

 

An Informal Hearing on the following license is taken up:

 

CLASS B (Victualer)

 

J.A.R. Beverage Inc., d/b/a Murray’s Pub, 1091 Main St. LIC#10069

 

Councilor Bray states that she has met with Major Stephen P. Ormerod; Frank J. Milos, Jr., Esq., Assistant City Solicitor; and R. Kevin Horan, Esq., regarding the incidents at Murray’s Pub.  An agreement has been reached regarding having a detail officer present on Friday and Saturday nights from 9:30 p.m. until 1:30 a.m., which will begin this weekend and will be reviewed in three months.

 

There are no other speakers.

 

The Informal Hearing is closed.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR BRAY.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Bray, seconded by Councilor Hodge, the following stipulation is added to the Class B (Victualer) liquor license of J.A.R. Beverage Inc., d/b/a Murray’s Pub, 1091 Main St. LIC#10069, which will begin this weekend and will be reviewed in three months:

 

STIPULATION:

 

1.  Detail Officer shall be hired on Friday and Saturday Nights from 9:30 p.m. until 1:30 a.m.

 

Communication from Major Stephen P. Ormerod to Chief George L. Kelly, III, Pawtucket Police Department. (Eagle Express Chinese Restaurant Corporation d/b/a R Bar, 852 Newport Avenue) is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR WILDENHAIN.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, seconded by Councilor Hodge, a FORMAL HEARING is scheduled for Wednesday, August 10, 2005, at 6:45 p.m. on the Class B (Victualer) liquor license for Eagle Express Chinese Restaurant Corporation d/b/a R Bar, 852 Newport Avenue, LIC#10166, for the following reason:

 

Failure to maintain control of patrons and/or employees, agents, endangering the health, safety and welfare of the general public.

 

Communication from Major Stephen P. Ormerod, to Chief George L. Kelly, III, Pawtucket Police Department. (Monthly activity report - Boson Associates Inc., d/b/a Panache Martini Lounge, 242 Middle Street) is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Wildenhain, the meeting is adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
