A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at 6:50 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Present – Chairman Barry, Councilors Bray, Carr, Clemente, Hodge, Hoyas, Moran and Wildenhain.
Absent – Councilor Grebien.
Chairman Barry presides.
The reading of the records of March 10, 2004, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.
REQUEST TO ENTER A PLEA OF NOLO CONTENDRE OR GUILTY – City of Pawtucket vs. Corina’s Pub, Inc., is READ AND ORDERED FILED and the PLEA IS ACCEPTED WITH THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL STIPULATION ON A UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE:
Police Detail Officer shall be required on each Friday and Saturday from 9:00 p.m. through 1:00 a.m.
The FORMAL HEARING on the following license is CANCELLED:

A public hearing is held on the following application for license, which was advertised for a hearing at this time, is taken up:

Rosa’s Sunshine Lounge, LTD d/b/a Sunshine Lounge (Transfer from Mutt & Jeff’s Pub Inc. d/b/a Sunshine Lounge) 110 School Street, LIC# 10325
Speaking in favor is Paul Bettencourt, Attorney, 349 Warren Avenue, East Providence, representing the applicants. Also present is Manuel Rosa, applicant, of 93 Chandler Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Mr. Bettencourt states that this business will retain all the same employees. All employees are TIPS Certified and they will be open the same hours.
President Barry questions Mr. Rosa on his experience.
Mr. Bettencourt states that Mr. Rosa has no previous experience. Mr. Rosa will take the training courses to be TIPS Certified. He will work full time and has invested his own money into this business. He will serve prepared food.
Upon questioning by Councilor Hodge, Mr. Rosa states that there will be no additional signage and he will maintain the exterior of the building and will keep the property clean.
Mr. Bettencourt states that there will be no live entertainment.
There are no other speakers.
The Hearing is closed.
COUNCILOR GREBIEN ARRIVES AT 6:57 P.M.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR HODGE.
Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Bray, the following license is APPROVED on a unanimous voice vote:

Upon motion made by Councilor Bray, seconded by Councilor Hodge, the meeting is adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
