June 9, 2004

 

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at 7:36 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. 

 

Present – Chairman Barry, Councilors Bray, Clemente, Grebien, Hodge, Hoyas, Moran and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilor Carr.

 

Chairman Barry presides.

The reading of the records of May 19, 2004, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

 

A public hearing is held on the following application for license, which was advertised for a hearing at this time, is taken up:

 

CLASS A –

 

Nawee Liquors, Inc. d/b/a Darlington Liquors, (Transfer from Darlington Liquors, Inc. d/b/a Darlington Liquors) 346 Armistice Boulevard, LIC# 10327

 

Speaking in favor is Sydney Resnick, 1005 Reservoir Avenue, Cranston, RI, representing the applicant, Nawee Liquors, Inc.

 

Mr. Resnick states that Nawee Heng, President of Nawee Liquors, Inc. has taken the alcohol training class and asks the Board for approval.

 

There are no other speakers.

 

The Hearing is closed.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR WILDENHAIN.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, seconded by Councilor Hoyas, the following license is APPROVED on a unanimous voice vote:

 

CLASS A –

 

Nawee Liquors, Inc. d/b/a Darlington Liquors, (Transfer from Darlington Liquors, Inc. d/b/a Darlington Liquors) 346 Armistice Boulevard, LIC# 10327

 

Communication from Fidjos Didjabraba, 682 Roosevelt Avenue, to the Honorable City Council, requesting permission to serve alcoholic beverages in the parking lot on Saturday, June 19, 2004, from 9:30 p.m. until 1:00 a.m.; and on Sunday, September 5, 2004, from 9:30 p.m. until 1:00 a.m., is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MORAN.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Wildenhain, the request of Fidjos Didjabraba, 682 Roosevelt Avenue, to serve alcoholic beverages in the parking lot on  Saturday, June 19, 2004, from 9:30 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.; and Sunday, September 5, 2004, from 9:30 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. is APPROVED WITH THE FOLLOWING STIPULATIONS on a unanimous voice vote:

 

STIPULATIONS:

 

  1. Detail police officer on duty from 9:00 PM-2:00 AM on both Dates

(6/19/04 & 9/5/04)

  1. Drinks to be served in PLASTIC CUPS.
  2. Appropriate Dumpsters for rubbish and area must be kept clean.

 

 

THE FOLLOWING LICENSE IS APPROVED ON A UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE:

 

Class F-1 (Full Privilege) –

 

Petition of Church of the Assumption to sell alcoholic beverages at an Annual Church Festival, on the church grounds, 97 Walcott Street, on Friday, August 20, 2004, from 5:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m.; Saturday, August 21, 2004, from 12:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m.; and on Sunday, August 22, 2004, from 12:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m., LIC# 134

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Bray, seconded by Councilor Hoyas, the meeting is adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
