January 8, 2003

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, January 8, 2003, at 7:19 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. 

 

Present – Councilors Barry, Bray, Carr, Clemente, Grebien, Hodge, Hoyas, Moran, and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – 0.

 

Councilor Barry presides.

 

The reading of the records of December 19, 2002, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

 

THE ELECTION OF THE CHAIRPERSON OF THE PAWTUCKET BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS IS TAKEN UP:

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR GREBIEN.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Grebien, seconded by Councilor Clemente, the name of John J. Barry, III, is placed in nomination for the Chairperson of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Grebien, seconded by Councilor Wildenhain, nominations are closed.

 

John J. Barry, III, is elected Chairperson of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners on a roll call vote, as follows:

 

AYES - Councilors Barry, Bray, Carr, Clemente, Grebien, Hodge, Hoyas, Moran, and Wildenhain.

 

NOES - 0.

 

THE ELECTION OF THE VICE-CHAIRPERSON OF THE PAWTUCKET BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS IS TAKEN UP:

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR GREBIEN.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Grebien, seconded by Councilor Wildenhain, the name of Mary E. Bray, is placed in nomination for the Vice-Chairperson of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR HODGE.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Hoyas, nominations are closed.

 

Mary E. Bray is elected Vice-Chairperson of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners on a roll call vote, as follows:

 

AYES - Chairman Barry, Councilors Bray, Carr, Clemente, Grebien, Hodge, Hoyas, Moran, and Wildenhain.

 

NOES - 0.

 

INFORMATION FROM MARILYN SHANNON MCCONAGHY, DIRECTOR, RHODE ISLAND DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS REGULATIONS, REGARDING DECISIONS ON LIQUOR LICENSE VIOLATIONS THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND, IS READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Bray, seconded by Councilor Grebien, the meeting is adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
