A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, August 7, 2002, at seven thirty-five o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Present – Chairman Barry, Councilors Bray, Carr, Clemente, Grebien, Hodge, Moran, and Wildenhain.
Absent – Councilor Hoyas.
Chairman Barry presides.
The reading of the records of July 24, 2002, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.
Communication from Margaret M. Lynch-Gadaleta, City Solicitor, to Janice M. LaPorte, CMC, City Clerk. (International Liquors) is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
Claim of Arcaro, Belilove, and Kolodney, objecting to the transfer of Class A liquor license of Emidio S. and Maria M. Alves d/b/a International Liquors, 915 Main Street to Maria M. Alves d/b/a International Liquors in the amount of $269.85, is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
A public hearing is held on the following application for license advertised for this time:

Mr. Devane states that his clients are aware that all objections are to be satisfied prior to transfer.
Mr. Devane states that his clients, Mr. & Mrs. Dhillon, have many years of business experience and they are both TIPS Certified.
Councilor Wildenhain states that there has never been a problem at that location and hopes that Mr. & Mrs. Dhillon will make a diligent effort for it to remain that way. He also states that all employees should be TIPS Certified.

Mr. Lim states that this is a new corporation with 20 years of restaurant experience. There are four individuals who are TIPS Certified.
The hours of operation will be Monday through Friday 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m.

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Clemente, seconded by Councilor Hodge, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Joseph A. Lamagna, Esq. informing him that the following stipulation on the liquor license of Cidade Velha Lounge, LTD d/b/a CV Lounge, 214 Broad Street is to remain in effect.
A detail officer shall be present at the establishment on each and every Friday and Saturday from 9:30 p.m. until 1:30 a.m. commencing Friday, March 8, 2002.
The Council’s decision is based on the recommendation of the Police Department.
