Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners
January 10, 2001
A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, January 10, 2001, at seven fifty-five o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Present – Councilors Bray, Carr, Clemente, Grebien, Hodge, Hoyas, Moran, and Wildenhain.
Absent – Chairman Barry
Vice Chair Bray presides.
The reading of the records of December 15, 2000, is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.
The matter of a FORMAL HEARING on the following license is taken up:
CLASS A
Great Entrepreneurial Endeavors Inc. d/b/a Gee’s Liquor, 398 Broadway, Pawtucket RI. LIC#10284
Representing the City of Pawtucket is Frank Milos, Assistant City Solicitor.
Representing the applicant is John F. McBurney, Esq.
Also present at the hearing is Stenographer Sandra Bachini Gaboriault.
THE DETAIL TESTIMONY OF THIS HEARING IS FILED IN THE VAULT OF THE CITY CLERKS OFFICE.
Mr. Milos states that the license holder is present and has agreed to a Fine of $250.00 for the first offense and a Formal Warning from the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MORAN.
With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Wildenhain, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:
A FORMAL WARNING AND FINE IN THE AMOUNT OF $250.00 (1st offense) is imposed on the Class A Liquor License of Great Entrepreneurial Endeavors Inc. d/b/a Gee’s Liquor, 398 Broadway, Pawtucket RI. LIC#10284 for the following reasons:
Selling intoxicating beverages to a minor on the licensed premises (R.I.G.L. 3‑8‑1), on or about November 3, 2000.
Failure to maintain control of patrons and/or employees, agents, endangering the health, safety and welfare of the general public.
Communication from Michael F. Horan, Esquire, to Janice M. LaPorte, CMC, Clerk Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners requesting to reschedule the FORMAL HEARING of Class B (Victualer) Romar Inc., d/b/a Club Nowhere, 520 Central Ave, from Wednesday, January 10, 2001, to Wednesday, January 24, 2001, is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
The matter of a FORMAL HEARING on the following license is taken up:

STIPULATIONS
3. A police officer shall be hired on Friday and Saturday evenings to patrol the exterior of the building.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MORAN.
With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Hodge, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote.
A FORMAL HEARING regarding the following license is rescheduled to be held on Wednesday January 24, 2001, at seven thirty o’clock p.m.

STIPULATIONS

A public hearing is held on the following application for license for the period beginning December 10, 2000, and ending December 1, 2001:

Speaking in favor is Gabriel Da Camara, 40 Greene Street, Pawtucket RI.
Mr. Da Camara request approval of his liquor license for one more year.
Councilor Hodge states that the License Committee met with the principals of Gabe’s Sports Pub Inc. d/b/a Gabe’s Sports Pub and the Committee approved the request to renew this license for one more year with a Stipulation that Mr. Da Camara submit a status report in 6 months regarding a new address for this business.
There are no other speakers.

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR HODGE.
Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Moran, the following license is APPROVED on a unanimous voice vote, with a STIPULATION TO PROVIDE A STATUS REPORT IN 6 MONTHS REGARDING A NEW ADDRESS FOR THIS BUSINESS.

The following petition for license is APPROVED on a unanimous voice vote:
