A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, August 8, 2001, at seven thirty-three o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Present – Chairman Barry, Councilors Bray, Carr, Clemente, Grebien, Hodge, Moran, and Wildenhain.
Absent – Councilor Hoyas.
Chairman Barry presides.
The reading of the records of July 25, 2001, is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.
COUNCILOR HOYAS ARRIVES AT SEVEN THIRTY-FOUR O’CLOCK P.M.
THE FOLLOWING LICENSE WAS SUSPENDED UNTIL AUGUST 8, 2001, IN ORDER TO ALLOW THE LICENSE HOLDER TO PROVIDE PROOF OF CORPORATION STATUS, AND IS AGAIN TAKEN UP:

PREVIOUS STIPULATION:

Speaking in favor is Kevin Horan, Attorney, 393 Armistice Boulevard, representing Cape Verdean American Lounge, Inc.
Mr. Horan states that his client will pay all claims against this license after the closing on Friday, August 10, 2001.
Mr. Horan states that the new buyers have run a restaurant in East Providence for the past few years.
The next person speaking in favor is Applicant, Maria Barros, 60 Capwell Avenue, Pawtucket.
Upon questioning from Councilor Clemente, Ms. Barros states that this will be a Portuguese/American Restaurant with a family type atmosphere, not a nightclub.
Ms. Barros states that they will be serving lunch and dinner from 11:00 a.m. until closing, six days a week, with the possibility of maybe opening on Sundays in the future.
Councilor Clemente questions who will be managing the business.
Ms. Barros states that she will be managing the business along with her husband, her sister, and her brother-in-law.
There are no other speakers. The Hearing is closed.

Upon motion made by Councilor Clemente, seconded by Councilor Hodge, the following petition for license is APPROVED WITH THE FOLLOWING STIPULATION, PENDING THE SETTLEMENT OF ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS on a unanimous voice vote:
