A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, September 6, 2000, at seven thirty-eight o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Present – Chairman Barry, Councilors Bray, Carr, Clemente, Grebien, Hodge, Moran, and Wildenhain.
Absent – Councilor Hoyas
Chairman Barry presides.
The reading of the records of August 23, 2000, is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR BRAY.
With majority consent of the Council, Councilor Bray introduces the following communications:
Claim of McLaughlin & Moran, Inc., objecting to the transfer of a Class B-V Liquor License of New Archie’s Inc., d/b/a Archie’s 47 Mendon Ave, to Lang’s Villa Restaurant Inc., in the amount of $282.52
Claim of Arcaro, Belilove, & Kolodney, Attorneys at Law, objecting to the transfer of a Class B-V Liquor License of New Archie’s Inc., d/b/a Archie’s 47 Mendon Ave, to Lang’s Villa Restaurant, Inc. in the total amount of $8,950.80
Upon motion made by Councilor Bray, seconded by Councilor Hodge, the following communications is READ AND ORDERED FILED:

A public hearing is held on the following application for license advertised for this time:

Lang’s Villa Restaurant Inc. (transfer from The New Archie’s Inc. d/b/a Archie’s) 47 Mendon Avenue; LIC#10279
Speaking in favor is Attorney, Michael F. Horan, 393 Armistice Boulevard, representing Mr. Lang Wilby, owner of Lang’s Villa Restaurant Inc., 100 Washington Street, South Attleboro, MA.
Mr. Wilby states that he has over 35 years experience in the restaurant business, and he will operate the same type of business at the new location as he has at the South Attleboro location.
Councilor Wildenhain questions if there is going to be any type of entertainment held at the restaurant.
Mr.Wilby states that there is going to be a 3-piece band playing on opening night between the hours of 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.; and there will be a 2-piece band playing on Friday and Saturday, nights from 8:00 p.m. until 12:00 midnight.
There are no other speakers.
The hearing is closed.
Upon motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, seconded by Councilor Hodge, the following license is APPROVED on a unanimous voice vote, pending the settlement of all outstanding claims:

Upon motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, seconded by Councilor Hodge, the request of FAD Food Enterprises, Ltd. d/b/a The Dublin Inn, 214 Columbus Avenue, Pawtucket RI, requesting permission to expand its existing facility 550 square feet, enclosing the patio area is APPROVED on a unanimous voice vote.

Petition of Uniao Portuguesa Continental to sell beer and wine at a Dinner and Dance Fundraiser for Scholarships, at 58 Smithfield Avenue, Saturday, September 16, 2000, from 6:00 p.m. until 12:00 midnight.
Upon motion made by Councilor Grebien, seconded by Councilor Hodge, the following petition for license is APPROVED on a unanimous voice vote.
