Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners

A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at seven forty-five o’clock p.m. at Jenks Junior High School, Media Center, Division Street, Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
Present – Chairman Barry, Councilors Bray, Clemente, Grebien, Hoyas, Moran, and Wildenhain.
Absent – Councilors Carr, and Hodge
Chairman Barry presides.
The reading of the records of June 7, 2000, is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.
Communication from Police Chief George L. Kelley, III, to Janice M. LaPorte, City Clerk, regarding request from Victor Santos, President, Groupo Amigos da Terceira, 55 Memorial Drive, to serve food and alcoholic beverages outside, on July 3, 2000, is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
The following communication was LAID ON THE TABLE at the June 7, 2000, meeting and is GRANTED WITH THE FOLLOWING STIPULATION:
Communication from Victor C. Santos, President, Grupo Amigos da Terceira Inc., 55 Memorial Drive, to the Honorable City Council, requesting permission to hold a picnic in the enclosed grounds at 55 Memorial Drive, on July 3, 2000, 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for the purpose of selling food and alcoholic beverages.
1. Hire a Pawtucket Police Officer for crowd control.
Communication from Robin Picard, President, Romar Inc., d/b/a Sit N Bull, 520 Central Avenue, to the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners, requesting permission to change their trade name from Sit N Bull, to Club Nowhere is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR WILDENHAIN.
Upon motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, seconded by Councilor Moran, the request from Robin Picard President, Romar Inc., d/b/a Sit N Bull, 520 Central Avenue, to change trade name to Club Nowhere is GRANTED on a unanimous voice vote.
Communication from Yu Cheng Zou, President, Eagle Express Chinese Restaurant Corp., 852 Newport Avenue, to the members of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners requesting permission to add a trade name, Eighty-Eight Asian Restaurant to their license, is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR WILDENHAIN.
Upon motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, seconded by Councilor Hoyas, the request from Yu Cheng Zou President, Eagle Express Chinese Restaurant Corp., 852 Newport Avenue, to add the trade name Eighty-Eight Asian Restaurant is GRANTED on a unanimous voice vote.

With majority consent of the Council, Councilor Wildenhain introduces the following communication:
Communication from Commander Stephen P. Ormerod, to Chief George L. Kelley, III, regarding application for outdoor liquor sales at Archie’s Tavern, 47 Mendon Avenue, on July 3, 2000.
Upon motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, seconded by Councilor Hodge the following communication is READ AND ORDERED FILED:

Communication from Patrick Costa, General Manager, The New Archie’s Restaurant, 47 Mendon Avenue, to the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners, requesting permission to serve food and draft beer at a cookout in the parking lot at 47 Mendon Avenue, July 3, 2000, from 4:00 p.m. until one half hour after the completion of the fireworks at McCoy Stadium, is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

Upon motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, seconded by Councilor Hodge, the request of Patrick Costa, General Manager, The New Archie’s Restaurant, 47 Mendon Avenue, is DENIED on a unanimous voice vote.
Communication from Ted P. Jackvony, President, Jack’s Are Wild, Inc., d/b/a Left Field Bar & Grill, 156-158 South Bend Street, to the members of the City Council requesting permission to serve food and alcoholic beverages in the parking lot, on Monday, July 3, 2000, beginning at 4:00 p.m. is READ AND ORDERED FILED. PERMISSION IS GRANTED WITH THE STIPULATIONS TO REMAIN.
STIPULATIONS:
1. Entire area is temporarily fenced in.
2. Hire a Pawtucket Police officer for crowd control.
3. Use one entrance only.
4. No one may leave the area with alcohol.
5. Maximum of 100 people in patio area.
Communication from Jie Ling Chan, Manager, Mei King Restaurant, 211 SouthBend Street, requesting permission to sell food and soda “only”, in the parking lot of the restaurant on Monday, July 3, 2000, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., IS READ AND ORDERED FILED. PERMISSION IS GRANTED TO SELL FOOD AND SODA “ONLY”.
Upon motion made by Councilor Bray, seconded by Councilor Wildenhain, the meeting is adjourned at seven fifty-nine o’clock p.m.
