February 9, 2000

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, February 9, 2000, at eight fourteen o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, Rhode Island. 

 

Present – Chairman Barry, Councilors Bray, Carr, Clemente, Grebien, Hodge, Hoyas, Moran and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – 0

 

Chairman Barry presides.

 

The reading of the records of, January 19, 2000 is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.

 

The matter of a FORMAL HEARING on the following license is  taken up:

 

CLASS A

 

Rick’s Liquors Inc., 746 Broadway LIC#10240

 

Representing the City of Pawtucket is Frank Milos, Assistant City Solicitor.

 

Also present at the hearing is, Stenographer, Sandra Bachini Gaboriault.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MORAN

 

With majority consent of the Council, Councilor Moran introduces the following communications:

 

Communication from City Solicitor, Margaret M. Lynch, to Councilor David P. Moran requesting that the hearing date for the formal hearing on Rick’s Liquor Inc., be postponed for sixty days to allow the business to be transferred to new owner.

 

Memorandum from Margaret M. Lynch, City Solicitor, to Chief George L. Kelley, III, requesting that the police closely monitor the establishment for the next sixty days in order to provide a report summarizing any activities or issues that may arise at that location until closing date of March 19, 2000.

 

Communication from Michael R. Egan, Esquire, Attorney for Rick’s Liquors Inc., to Margaret M. Lynch, City Solicitor asking for a reassignment of hearing date until the sale of license is complete.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Hodge, the following communications are READ AND ORDERED FILED:
