Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners
April 19, 2000
A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at seven forty o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
Present – Chairman Barry, Councilors Bray, Carr, Clemente, Grebien, Hodge, Hoyas, and Wildenhain.
Absent – Councilor Moran
Chairman Barry presides.
The reading of the records of April 5, 2000, is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.
A public hearing is held on the following application for license advertised for this time:
CLASS A
D & R Liquors Inc. d/b/a Rick’s Liquors (transfer from Rick’s Liquors, Inc.) 746 Broadway, LIC#10274
Speaking in favor is Raymond and Debraann Cahoon, 50 Hendricken Court, Warwick, RI, applicants.
Upon questioning by Councilor Hodge, Mr. Cahoon states that he has no experience in this type of business.
Mr. Cahoon further states that he was with the Wawick Police Department for 22 years, and is now retired.
The hours of operation will remain the same. Mr. Cahoon states that he will be running the business with his sister. Some of the former employees will be kept. Mr. Cahoon adds that he is TIPS certified and existing employees are also TIPS trained.
Mr. Cahoon states that he is aware of the previous problems at the store and he will make any necessary changes to comply with the laws.
There are no speakers in opposition.
The hearing is closed.

Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Bray, the following application is APPROVED on a unanimous voice vote:

Petition of Scared Heart Church to sell beer and wine at a Parish Music Festival, at 38 Park Street, Friday, May 19, 2000, and Saturday, May 20, 2000 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00, LIC#58
Linda Caliber Transplant Fund to sell beer and wine at a fund raiser/dinner dance, at St. Cecil’s Parish Hall, 750 Central Avenue, Saturday, May 27, 2000, from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.LIC#59.
Upon motion made by Councilor Bray, seconded by Councilor Grebien, the meeting is adjourned at seven forty-six p.m.
