A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, October 20, 1999, at seven thirty-five o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
Present - Councilors Bray, Carr, Clemente, Grebien, Hoyas, Moran and Wildenhain.
Absent - Chairman Barry and Councilor Hodge.
Vice Chair Bray presides.
The reading of the records of October 6, 1999, is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.
The INFORMAL HEARING on the following license is taken up:
CLASS B (Victualer)
Caribbean Entertainment, Inc., d/b/a Cosmopolitan Club, 25 Roosevelt Avenue.

Upon motion made by Councilor Grebien, seconded by Councilor Hoyas, the informal hearing on the following license is LAID ON THE TABLE until further notice, on a unanimous voice vote:

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MORAN
With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Wildenhain, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:
A SUSPENSION OF TWO DAYS, SPECIFICALLY FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 1999, AND SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 1999, AS WELL AS A FINE IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000.00 is imposed on the Class A liquor license of Rick’s Liquors Inc., 746 Broadway LIC#10240, for the following reason:
Selling intoxicating beverages to a minor on the licensed premises (R.I.G.L.3-8-1), on or about September 3, 1999.
A public hearing is held on the following application for license advertised for this time:
CLASS A
Costa Liquors, Ltd., d/b/a Beverage Hill Liquor Store (transfer of 50% of stock holders) 265 Beverage Hill Avenue LIC#10264
Speaking in favor is Paul Bettencourt, Attorney, 1481 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence, representing Costa Liquors, Inc.
Mr. Bettencourt states that Mr. Correira, the applicant, has worked at this establishment for over one year. He also states that Mr. Correira is Tips certified.
Councilor Hoyas asks if Mr. Correira is aware of the previous violations.
Mr. Correira states that he is aware of the violations and will take every precaution to prevent further violations.
There are no other speakers.

Upon motion made by Councilor Hoyas, seconded by Councilor Grebien, the following transfer of 50% of stockholders is GRANTED on a unanimous voice vote.

Communication from Commander Stephen P. Ormerod, to Chief George L. Kelley, III, (Activity report - Club Cosmopolitan, Oct 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 1999,) is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
