Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners
March 10, 1999
A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at eight fourteen o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, Rhode Island. All members are present, except Councilor Wildenhain, Chairman Barry presides.
Upon motion made by Councilor Bray, seconded by Councilor Grebien, the reading of the records of February 24, 1999, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.
Communication from Eastern Utilities objecting to the transfer of Class B (Victualer) liquor license of Lex Corporation d/b/a Alexion’s Famille Restaurant, 855 Newport Avenue, in the amount of $6,310.11, is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
A public hearing is held on the following application for license advertised for this time:
CLASS B (Victualer)
Wetherlaine’s Inc., d/b/a Wetherlaine’s Restaurant and Pub (transfer from Lex Corporation d/b/a Alexion’s Famille Restaurant) 855 Newport Avenue LIC#10252
Speaking in favor is Tiffany M. Wetherbee, 194 N. Washington Street, N. Attleboro, Ma. and James Lemoie, 17 Nickerson Street, Pawtucket, President and Vice-President respectively.
Mr. Lemoie states that this establishment will be run as a restaurant and pub. Mr. Lemoie informs the Council that he has had previous experience in this type of business, some in Pawtucket. He was the bar manager for Pub 99 on Route 1 in Attleboro. He also states that the restaurant will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Hours of operation will be Sunday through Thursday 11:30 a.m. until 11:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. There is seating capacity for one hundred twenty five and four employees are tips certified. There is ample parking available.
Councilor Hodge asks if they would be opposed to a “No Live Entertaiment” stipulation placed on the license. Applicants reply no.
Councilor Hoyas states he anticipates a problem with the late night closing, as the previous owners were closed much earlier.
There are no speakers in opposition.
The hearing is closed.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR HODGE
Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Moran, the following application for Class B (Victualer) liquor license is GRANTED on a unanimous voice vote.

1. A detailed Police officer must be on duty
2. Beverages shall be seved in plastic cups only, no glass shall be allowed in the tent
