Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners

February 10, 1999

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, February 10, 1999, at seven forty-three o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, Rhode Island. All the members are present, except Chairman Barry; Vice Chairperson Bray presides.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Grebien the reading of the records of January 20, 1999, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

 

A public hearing is held on the following application for license advertised for this time:

 

CLASS B (Victualer) - Requesting change from Class B Limited.

 

Pawtucket Red Sox Baseball Club Inc., McCoy Stadium, Columbus Avenue LIC#10250.

 

Speaking in favor is Michael Tamburro, 1412 Newman Avenue, Seekonk, MA, President, Pawtucket Red Sox Baseball Club Inc.

 

Mr. Tamburro states that the upgrade in the license for a full bar will be used only in the Hospitality Room and at private functions. The sale of beer and wine in the stadium will not change.

 

There are no speakers in opposition.

 

The Hearing is closed.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR HODGE

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Grebien, the following application for Class B (Victualer) liquor license is GRANTED on a unanimous voice vote:

 

CLASS B (Victualer) - Requesting change from Class B Limited.

Communication from Captain Stephen P. Ormerod, to Commander George Kelley, III, regarding reduction of the number of Police Officers detailed to the Club Cosmopolitan, is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

Communication from Captain Stephen P. Ormerod to Commander George Kelley, III, (Activity report - Club Cosmopolitan - January 15, 16, 17, 1999), is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

Communication from Captain Stephen P. Ormerod, to Commander George Kelley, III, (Activity report - Club Cosmopolitan - January 22, 23, 1999), is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

The following license is GRANTED on a unanimous voice vote:

 

CLASS F (Beer and Wine)

 

Sacred Heart Church, to sell beer and wine at its Valentine’s Dance to be held in the Church Hall, 38 Park Street, on Saturday, February 13, 1999, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. LIC#38.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Carr, the meeting is adjourned at seven forty-nine o’clock p.m.
