PAWTUCKET BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS
October 23, 1998
A Special Session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Friday, October 23, 1998, at five ten o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, Pawtucket, RI. All the members are present except Councilors Carr, Hoyas, Moran and Wildenhain; Chairman Barry presides.
Communication from Council President John J. Barry, III, calling a Special Session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners for Friday, October 23, 1998, at 5:00p.m., is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
A public hearing is held on the following application advertised for a hearing at this time:
CLASS A
L.A.M. Inc., d/b/a Lonsdale Liquors (transfer from Lonsdale Liquors Inc.) 465 Lonsdale Avenue LIC#247
COUNCILOR HOYAS ARRIVES AT 5:12 PM.
Speaking in favor is Patrick Doherty, Attorney for the applicants.
Mr. Doherty states that the applicants are purchasing the real estate and he feels this will benefit the community.
Applicant will operate the business as it has been operated in the past. The hours will be 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. There are no parking problems.
The applicants will look into expanding the facility in the future by adding on other types of businesses.
Councilor Vieira warns the applicants that the City of Pawtucket does not tolerate selling alcoholic beverages to minors.
The applicants assure the Council that they are well aware of the legal age and that all employees will be TIPS certified.
There are no other speakers.
The hearing is closed.
Upon motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Hodge the following license is APPROVED with the following STIPULATION:
CLASS A
L.A.M. Inc, d/b/a Lonsdale Liquors (transfer from Lonsdale Liquors Inc.) 465 Lonsdale Avenue LIC#247.
STIPULATION:
1. ALL EMPLOYEES MUST BE CERTIFIED IN AN ALOCOHOL TRAINING PROGRAM.
Upon motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Hodge, the meeting is adjourned at five twenty o’clock p.m.
