November 10, 1998

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Tuesday, November 10, 1998, at six thirty-five o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, Rhode Island. All the members are present except Chairman Barry and Councilor Hodge; Vice-Chairman Vieira presides.

 

The reading of the records of October 21 and October 23, 1998, are dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

 

Petition from Caribbean Entertainment, Inc., d/b/a Cosmopolitan Club, to Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners (Requesting permission to remain open until 2:00 a.m. on Fridays and Saturday and the night before legal Rhode Island holidays) is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Bray, seconded by Councilor Grebien, permission is GRANTED to Caribbean Entertainment, Inc., d/b/a Cosmopolitan Club, 25 Roosevelt Avenue, to remain open until 2:00 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and the night before legal Rhode Island holidays, on a unanimous voice vote

 

1478B   Communication from Duane Souza, Vice President, Pub 602, Inc. 602 Smithfield Avenue, requesting stipulation “No Live Entertainment” be removed form Class B (Victualer) liquor license, is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Bray, seconded by Councilor Grebien, the stipulation “No Live Entertainment” is REMOVED, on a unanimous voice vote. A new stipulation is added as follows:

 

1.         Entertainment shall be allowed one night per week, on either Friday or Saturday.

4.         All police details shall be for the hours of 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m.

 

CHECKMATE PIZZA INC., D/B/A CHECKMATE PIZZA, 1-3 GARDEN ST.

 

1.         No Entertainment

2.         Hours of operation shall be 11:00 am until 11:00 pm

3.         The bar area shall have no more than a seating capacity of six (6)

2.         No motor cycles will be parked on the sidewalk on either Dean Street or Columbus Avenue.

3.         Patrons are to leave parking lot at closing time - no loitering.

4.         Each morning or afternoon, the owner or manager is to walk around the establishment and surrounding homes and pick up beer bottles.

5.         No more than 76 people in the building, per order of the Fire Chief.

6.         There will be no Wednesday specials or any other specials on any nights per State Law Chapter 7, Section 3-7-26.

7.         Entertainment shall be limited to Jazz, Blues, Country & Western, Irish, Oldies, and other similar types of music.

1.         Off-duty police officer must be present whenever this establishment operates on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.
