PAWTUCKET BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS

June 10, 1998

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at seven thirty-seven o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, RI. All the members are present except President Barry and Councilors Bray and Moran; Vice Chair Vieira presides.

 

The reading of the records of May 20, 1998, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

 

Communication from Sandra A. Salisbury, Executive Legal Secretary to Councilor William Vieira regarding Cape Verdean American Lounge d/b/a Lisboa Noite; Ilha Verde Club; and the Paradise Club is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

Communication from Ted P. Jackvony, President, Jacks Are Wild Inc., d/b/a Left Field Bar & Grill, 156-158 So Bend Street, Pawtucket, RI, requesting permission to serve food and alcoholic beverages outside the premises (in parking lot) on Friday, July 3, 1998, beginning at 4:00 p.m. is READ AND ORDERED FILED AND REQUEST IS APPROVED WITH THE FOLLOWING STIPULATIONS:

 

1.         Entire area is temporarily fenced in.

2.         Hire a Pawtucket Police Officer for crowd control.

3.         Use one entrance only.

4.         No one may leave the area with alcohol.

5.         Maximum of 100 people in patio area.

 

Communication from Vincent Nassi, President, Lonsdale Liquors, Inc., 485 Lonsdale Avenue, withdrawing application for transfer of Class A liquor license to J.A.S. Liquors Inc., effectively immediately is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

The public hearing, which was suspended at the meeting held May 20, 1998, is again taken up AND IS CLOSED. APPLICATION IS WITHDRAWN WITHOUT PREJUDICE:

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR HODGE.

 

With majority consent of the Council, Councilor Hodge introduces the following communication:

 

Communication from Arthur Tow d/b/a Meiking Restaurant, 211 South Bend Street, Pawtucket, RI, requesting permission to serve food outside in Parking Lot on Friday, July 3,1998, and Saturday, July 4, 1998, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Hoyas, the following communication is READ AND ORDERED FILED AND REQUEST IS APPROVED WITH THE FOLLOWING:

 

1.         No alcohol may be brought outside the building.

2.         Maximum of 100 people in patio area.

Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Hoyas, the meeting is adjourned at seven forty o’clock p.m.
