A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, December 9, 1998, at seven fifty-five o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, Rhode Island. All the members are present; President Barry presides.
The reading of the records of November 24, 1998, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.
Claim of Blackstone Valley Electric Company, objecting to the transfer of Class B (Victualer) liquor license of Sports Zone Inc., 617-627 Prospect Street & 10 Fortin Avenue to LMJ Holdings Inc., in the amount of $3,386.21, is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR VIEIRA
With majority consent of the Council, Councilor Vieira introduces the following communications:
Claim of Arcaro, Belilove, & Kolodney, Attorneys at Law, objecting to the transfer of Class B Liquor License of Sports Zone Inc., 617-627 Prospect Street & 10 Fortin Avenue, to LMJ Holdings Inc. in the amount of $1,733.27.
Claim of Arcaro, Belilove, & Kolodney, Attorneys at Law, objecting to the transfer of Class B Liquor License of Sports Zone Inc., 617-627 Prospect Street & 10 Fortine Avenue, to LMJ Holdings Inc., in the amount of $2,082.98.

Upon motion made by Councilor Vieria, and seconded by Councilor Hoyas, the following communications are READ AND ORDERED FILED:

A public hearing is held on the following application for transfer of license advertised for this time:

LMJ Holdings Inc. d/b/a Our Place (transfer from Sports Zone Inc.) 617-627 Prospect Street & 10 Fortin Avenue LIC#10248.
Speaking in favor is Monica Horan, Esquire, 393 Armistice Blvd., Pawtucket, representing the applicant.
Ms. Horan introduces Mr. Lawrence Junior, President and sole owner of the corporation.
Ms. Horan states that Mr. Junior formed a new corporation to buy this business, and that he has previous experience. He will continue to operate in the same manner. All employees will be TIPS certified including Mr. Junior
In response to questions by President Barry, Mr. Junior states that he will use the parking lot on Fortin Avenue for his patrons. Mr. Gagnon, former owner confirms that there is an agreement with Mr. Sullivan, owner of the property, to use the parking lot on Fortin Street for the patrons of this establishment.
Mr. Junior states that he will maintain the fence along neighbor’s property line.

In conformity with Chapter 242 of the Public Laws of Rhode Island, 1962, Class B establishments are hereby entitled to remain open on New Year’s morning, January 1, 1999, until 3:00 AM. Alcoholic beverages however, CANNOT be sold after the usual closing hour of 1:00 AM.
In conformity with Section 3-8-1 of the General Laws of the State of Rhode Island, Class C liquor establishments are hereby entitled to be open New Year’s day, 1998.
