A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, September 24, 1997, at seven forty o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, RI. All the members are present except Chairman Barry and Councilor Doyle; Vice-Chairman Vieira presides.
The reading of the records of September 10, 1997, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.
Claim of Eastern Utilities objecting to the transfer of Class A liquor license of J R $av-On-Liquors Inc., 350 Benefit Street to J.R. Acquisition LLC d/b/a J.R. $av-on-Liquor, in the amount of $1689.36 is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR HODGE.
With majority consent of the Council, Councilor Hodge introduces the following claims:
Claim of McLaughlin & Moran, Inc., objecting to the transfer of Class A liquor license of J R $av-On-Liquors Inc., 350 Benefit Street to J.R. Acquisition LLC d/b/a J.R. $av-on-Liquor, in the amount of $30, 553.05.
Claim of Arcaro, Belilove and Kolodney, Attorneys at Law, objecting to the transfer of Class A liquor license of J R $av-On-Liquors Inc., 350 Benefit Street to J.R. Acquisition LLC d/b/a J.R. $av-on-Liquor, in the total amount of $30,565.00.
Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Rabbitt, the following claims are READ AND ORDERED FILED:

Mr. Gagnon will manage the business. The hours will be 11 AM - 1 AM Monday thru Saturday; 12 Noon - 1 AM on Sundays. There will be more food service to attract a better clientele.
Mr. Gagnon states that he will have some entertainment, but nothing loud. There will be more emphasis on food and less on liquor. He may have 1 or 2 employees and all will be TIPS certified.
There are no speakers in opposition.

THE CLERK IS INSTRUCTED TO NOTIFY LATIN SPORTS INC., d/b/a DISCOTECA 2000, 327 BARTON STREET, THAT IT IS PERMITTED BY STATE LAW TO REMAIN OPEN UNTIL 2:00 AM, BUT ALL LIQUOR SERVICE MUST STOP BEFORE 1:00 AM.
The following petition is DENIED on a unanimous voice vote:
FAD Food Enterprises Ltd., d/b/a Dublin Inn, 216 Columbus Avenue, requesting permission to have outdoor entertainment with live music as well as serving beer, in Parking Lot, on Sunday, October 26, 1997, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
