A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, October 22, 1997, at eight eleven o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, RI. All the members are present except Councilors Cute and Doyle; Chairman Barry presides.
The reading of the records of October 8, 1997, are dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.
A public hearing is held on the following application for license advertised for this time:
CLASS A
J.H.G. Liquors Inc., d/b/a Countryside Liquors (transfer from Countryside Liquors Inc.) 553-555 Armistice Blvd. LIC#229
Speaking in favor is Michael Horan, Attorney, 393 Armistice Blvd., Pawtucket, RI.
Michael Gately, applicant, 137 Park Circle, So. Attleboro, MA.
Attorney Horan states that Michael & Kara Gately will own and run the business. There will be no change in the operation. Mr. Gately has been employed there for eight years.
Mr. Gately states that the present owner has been there ten years. He is TIPS certified.
There are no other speakers.

With majority consent of the Council, Councilor Vieira introduces the following claims:

Claim of Arcaro, Belilove and Kolodney, Attorneys at Law, objecting to the transfer of Class A liquor license of Countryside Liquors Inc., 553-555 Armistice Blvd., to J.H.G. Liquors Inc. d/b/a Countryside Liquors in the total amount of $8,464.06.
Claim of Arcaro, Belilove and Kolodney, Attorneys at Law, objecting to the transfer of Class A liquor license of Countryside Liquors Inc., 553-555 Armistice Blvd., to J.H.G. Liquors Inc. d/b/a Countryside Liquors in the total amount of $7,504.11.
Claim of McLaughlin & Moran Inc., objecting to the transfer of Class A liquor license of Countryside Liquors Inc., 553-555 Armistice Blvd., to J.H.G. Liquors Inc. d/b/a Countryside Liquors in the total amount of $13,825.40.
Upon motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilors Rabbitt and Hodge, the following claims are READ AND ORDERED FILED:

Upon motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilors Rabbitt, the following application for license transfer is GRANTED SUBJECT TO THE PAYMENT OF ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS:

Communication from Sandi Salisbury, Exeuctive Legal Secretary to Richard J. Goldstein, City Clerk, submitting a copy of the Decision in the matter of Fernando’s Liquors Inc., transfer of location from 558 Broadway to 394-400 Broadway, is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR VIEIRA.
With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Hodge, is passed on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to request the officers of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes, 532 Lonsdale Avenue, to attend an informal meeting of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners on Wednesday, November 5, 1997, to discuss a recent incident which occurred at this club.
Upon motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Bray, the meeting is adjourned at eight seventeen o’clock p.m.
