A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, May 7, 1997, at seven thirty-three o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, RI. All the members are present except Councilors Butler, Doyle and Vieira; Chairman Barry presides.
The reading of the records of April 23, 1997, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.
A Public Hearing is held on the following application for license advertised for this time:
CLASS A
Costa Liquors Ltd d/b/a Beverage Hill Liquor Store (transfer from The Beverage Hill Liquor Store, Inc.) 265 Beverage Hill Avenue LIC#217.
Speaking in favor is Jose Costa, 16 Wannamoiset Road, East Providence, RI, applicant.
Paul G. Bettencourt, Attorney, 1481 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence, RI, representing the applicant.
Mr. Bettencourt states that Mr. Costa and his wife will run the business. The hours of operation will be from 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Costa have both finished the TIPS training course. They previously owned a bakery, which they have run for the last five years.
The intend to continue the same type of operation as the previous owner.
Mr. Costa states that he has no liquor business experience; however, he understands the liquor laws.
There are no other speakers.
The hearing is closed.
Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Rabbitt, the following application for license transfer is GRANTED on a unanimous voice vote SUBJECT TO THE CLEARANCE OF ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS:

Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Rabbitt, the meeting is adjourned at seven forty o’clock p.m.
