A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, June 11, 1997, at seven thirty o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, RI. All the members are present except Chairman Barry and Councilor Vieira.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR HODGE.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Rabbitt, Councilor James E. Doyle is ELECTED ACTING CHAIRMAN on a unanimous voice vote.

 

ACTING CHAIRMAN DOYLE PRESIDES AT SEVEN THIRTY-TWO O’CLOCK PM.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR RABBITT.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Rabbitt, seconded by Councilor Moran, Councilor Thomas E. Hodge is ELECTED ACTING VICE-CHAIRMAN on a unanimous voice vote.

 

The reading of the records of May 21, 1997, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

 

Communication from Frank J. Milos, Jr., Assistant City Solicitor, to the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners. (Superior Court Appeal of Union Wadding Co., vs. Zoning Board: Mario Troia; & Stooges, Inc.) is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

Communication from Michael F. Horan, to Richard J. Goldstein, CMC, Clerk, Pawtucket City Council. (Stooges Inc., d/b/a Stooge’s Pub and Deli) is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

The following application for license was LAID ON THE TABLE at the meeting held May 21, 1997, and is again taken up and is DENIED on a unanimous voice vote:

A public hearing is held on the following application for license advertised for this time:

Jacks Are Wild Inc d/b/a Left Field Bar & Grill (transfer from Left Field Inc.) 156-158 South Bend Street. LIC#220

 

Speaking in favor is David Jackvony, 104 Grosvenor Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.

 

Mr. Jackvony states that the hours of operation will be Monday - Thursday - 3:00 p.m. -1:00 a.m.; Friday and Saturday - 1:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.

 

They will operate the same type of business as the previous owner. They will be serving deli style sandwiches. Mr. Jackvony has tended bar previously.

 

Mr. Jackvony states that his entire family, who will be working there, are TIPS certified.

 

There are no other speakers.

 

The hearing is closed.
