January 8, 1997

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, January 8, 1997, at seven thirty-two o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, RI. All the members are present except Councilor Moran; Chairman Barry presides.

 

The reading of the records of December 20, 1996, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

 

COUNCILOR MORAN ARRIVES AT 7:33 P.M.

 

A Formal Hearing is held on the following:

 

CLASS B (Victualer)

 

Casa DeVicente Inc., 270 Dexter St. LIC#10187

 

Representing the City of Pawtucket is Attorney Christopher Fay, Assistant City Solicitor.

 

Representing license holder is William J. Lynch, Attorney, 321 S. Main Street, Providence, RI

 

Also present are:

 

Lt. Douglas Clary, Pawtucket Police Department

 

Sgt. Paul King, Pawtucket Police Department

Lt. Richard Rousseau, Pawtucket Police Department

Lt. Steven R. Johnson, Pawtucket Fire Department

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR VIEIRA.

 

With majority consent of the Council, upon motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Butler, the following ADDITIONAL stipulations are added to the Class B (Victualer) liquor license of Casa DeVicente, Inc., 270 Dexter Street LIC#10187:

 

1.         The hours of operations shall be Sunday - Thursday 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.

            Friday & Saturday 11:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.

2.         No Entertainment

3.         All bars and bar type counters shall be removed within 30 days, except the bar that was there when the license was transferred in October of 1994, which consists of one bar and five seats.

4.         Dance floor shall be removed within 30 days

5.         Bar will be used by waiters as a service bar and by patrons waiting for take out orders only

 

The following license renewal was approved until the meeting on January 8, 1997, and is again taken up:

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR VIEIRA.

 

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Butler, to approve the following license renewal with the following stipulations, is passed on a unanimous voice vote:

 

CLASS B (VICTUALER)

 

* Casa DeVicente, Inc., 270 Dexter Street LIC#10187

 

1.         The hours of operations shall be Sunday - Thursday 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Friday & Saturday 11:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.

2.         No Entertainment

3.         All bars and bar type counters shall be removed within 30 days, except the bar that was there when the license was transferred in October of 1994, which consists of one bar and five seats.

4.         Dance floor shall be removed within 30 days

5.         Bar will be used by waiters as a service bar and by patrons waiting for take out orders only

#6.       There be a uniform detailed officer stationed outside the Casa De Vincente every Friday and Saturday evening commencing 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. the following morning.

#7.       Casa De Vincente shall continue to employ a bouncer who also will be stationed at the door of the establishment.

#8.       Casa De Vincente shall still have management still routinely checking the parking lot during the course of the evening between the hours of 9:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m.

Upon motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Butler, the meeting is adjourned at eight fifty-eight o’clock p.m
