A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, September 11, 1996, at seven thirty-one o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, RI. All the Members are present and Chairman Barry presides.
The reading of the Records of August 14 and 21, 1996, is dispensed with and the Records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.
A Formal Hearing is held on the following:

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Butler, is passed on a unanimous voice vote:
The Class A liquor license of J.R. $av-On Liquors Inc., 350 Benefit Street, LIC#10155 is SUSPENDED FOR 7 OPERATING DAYS BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 13, 1996, AND A FINE OF $750 IS IMPOSED FOR VIOLATING LIQUOR LAWS BY SELLING TO MINORS.

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Butler, is passed on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to send a FORMAL WARNING AND FINE to Narragansett Discount Liquors, 390 Smithfield Avenue, LIC#10156, stating that any further violations by this establishment will result in further action by the Board of License Commissioners, including additional fines, suspension or revocation of the Class A liquor license.
THE FINE SHALL BE IN THE AMOUNT OF $250.00.
Memorandum from Captain George Kelley III to Pawtucket City Council regarding Casa DeVicente Inc., is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR VIEIRA.
With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Butler, to postpone the formal hearing on Class B (Victualer) liquor license of Casa DeVicente Inc., 270 Dexter St LIC#10187, is passed on a unanimous voice vote.
The Formal Hearing is rescheduled for Wednesday, September 25, 1996, due to a conflict of schedules for Attorney William Lynch, who is representing Casa DeVicente, Inc.
Communication from William J. Burke, Attorney, representing Perry’s Liquors Inc., 240 Columbus Avenue, in the matter of the Formal Hearing scheduled for September 25, 1996, is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR RABBITT.
Upon motion made by Councilor Rabbitt, seconded by Councilor Moran, the Clerk is instructed to notify Attorney William Burke, that the Council will accept the offer of Perry’s Liquors, Inc., 240 Columbus Avenue, LIC#10025, to accept a one day suspension and a $500 fine, for violating the liquor laws - serving alcohol to minors on or about July 12, 1996.
THE CLASS A LIQUOR LICENSE OF PERRY’S LIQUORS, INC., 240 COLUMBUS AVENUE, LIC#10025 IS SUSPENDED FOR ONE DAY ON SEPTEMBER 20, 1996, AND A FINE OF $500 IS IMPOSED FOR VIOLATING THE LIQUOR LAWS BY SELLING ALCOHOL TO MINORS ON OR ABOUT JULY 12, 1996.
Further, the Formal Hearing which was scheduled for September 25, 1996, is no longer necessary and is canceled.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR RABBITT.
With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Rabbitt, seconded by Councilor Moran, in the matter of the Formal Hearing regarding Class A liquor license of The Beverage Hill Liquor Store, Inc., 265 Beverage Hill Avenue, is passed on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to send a FORMAL REPRIMAND AND WARNING to The Beverage Hill Liquor Store, Inc., 265 Beverage Hill Avenue, LICENSE#10003, stating that based on the 50 years of operating without any problems, no other action will be taken at this time.
Further, there will be no need for the Formal Hearing which was scheduled for September 25, 1996, at this time.
The following license is approved on a unanimous voice vote:
CLASS F-1 (Full Privilege)
Old Slater Mill Association to sell alcoholic beverages at the 75th Anniversary of the Old Slater Mill Association at the Slater Mill Historic Mill Site at Roosevelt Avenue & Hodgson Park on September 21 1996, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 PM. LIC#10
Upon motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Bray, the meeting is adjourned at eight six o’clock p.m.
