A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, November 8, 1995, at seven thirty o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, RI. All the Members are present except Councilor Rabbitt, and Chairman Barry presides.
The reading of the Records of October 25, 1995, is dispensed with and the Records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.
A Public Hearing is held on the following application for license advertised for this time:

43 Broad Street Inc., d/b/a News Cafe, 43 Broad Street & 44 Summer Street. LIC#199
Speaking in favor and representing applicant is William Burke, Attorney, 75 Park Place, Pawtucket, RI.
Mr. Burke states that this is a new project for downtown.
Mr. Burke presents a picture of the proposed cafe. He states that approximately $25,000 - $30,000 will be spent for renovations, and about $10,000 for equipment.
It will be a deli type food business for lunch. There will be no fryalator at this time. The restaurant will have a “news” theme. There is parking in an adjacent lot.
The hours will be 11 a.m. - 1 a.m. Monday to Saturday; Sunday - 12 Noon - Midnight.
There will be no jukebox. Entertainment will consist of nothing more than a 2 piece band.
Mr. Burke submits a copy of a proposed menu.
There are no other speakers.

Mr. Sepulveda states that he is aware of police problems at the establishment. He believes that alcohol was not served after 1:00 a.m., that it was just on the tables. It was the same situation the second time there was a problem.
He further states that the business now closes at 10 p.m. 90% of the time; if open later, there is no serving after 12:30 a.m. and all patrons must leave by 1 a.m.
