A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, September 7, 1994, at eight one o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, RI. All the Members are present except Councilor Vieira and Chairman Barry presides.
The reading of the Records of August 24, 1994, is dispensed with and the Records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.
Communication from Joseph De Angelis d/b/a Central Avenue Grill, 836 Central Avenue requesting approval of proposed renovations to the Class B Victualer liquor establishment is READ AND ORDERED FILED AND THE REQUEST FOR RENOVATIONS IS APPROVED ON A UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE.
A Public Hearing is held on the following application for license advertised for this time:
CLASS B (Victualler)
Daniel G. DaSilveira d/b/a Greenhouse Caterer & Restaurant, 110 Mineral Spring Avenue. LIC#186
Speaking in favor is Daniel DaSilveira, applicant.
Mr. DaSilveira states that he needs the liquor license for a small banquet hall which will be used for private parties. He will be open on weekends until 11:00 PM and will only be open for parties at that time.
Mr. DaSilveira also states that he has approximately one party every two to three months.
Also speaking in favor is Sergeant Joseph Allison, Community Police Unit.
Sergeant Allison states that Mr. DaSilveira has cooperated with the Community Police Unit and is a good friend to the neighbors and that Mr. DaSilveira volunteers much of his time to activities.
Sergeant Allison also states that Mr. DaSilveira is President of the Woodlawn Neighborhood Association and is a proven businessman. Sergeant Allison asks the City Council to approve Mr. DaSilveira’s application for a liquor license.
Speaking in opposition is Adberto Barbosa.
Mr. Barbosa states that he is spokesman for the people in the immediate vicinity of Mr. DaSilveira’s business.
Mr. Barbosa states that Mr. DaSilveira is a super man to have as a neighbor, however he and the neighbors are opposed to another liquor license in this area.
Mr. Barbosa reads a prepared statement which is made part of the record and requests that the liquor license be denied.

Upon Motion made by Councilor Bray, seconded by Councilor Hodge, the following application for a liquor license is LAID ON THE TABLE on a unanimous voice vote.

Upon Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Kinder, the meeting is adjourned at eight fifteen o’clock p.m.
