A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, May 25, 1994, at seven thirty o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, RI. All the Members are present except Councilors Rabbitt and Vieira; Chairman Barry presides.
The reading of the Records of May 11, 1994, is dispensed with and the Records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

With majority consent of the Council, Council President Barry permits the following objectors to Bandilli Cafe, Inc., d/b/a State Line Cafe, to speak:
Ed Barriere, 520 Benefit Street, Pawtucket, RI.
Mr. Barriere states that he wants the establishement closed.
Mark Pouliot, 37 Bowen Street, Pawtucket, RI, property owner
Mr. Pouliot states that he owns property within 50 feet of the State Line Cafe. He states that he is concerned about kids walking past the bar to go to and from school.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MORAN.
With majority consent of the Council, Upon Motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Demopulos, the Class B (Victualer) Liquor License of Bandilli Cafe Inc., d/b/a State Line Cafe, 514 Benefit Street is REVOKED on a roll call vote, as follows:
Ayes - President Barry, Councilors Bray, Demopulos, Doyle, Hodge, Kinder, and Moran.
Noes - 0.
REVOKED FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS:
1. Drug related charges brought by the Pawtucket Police Department and/or the Attorney General’s Strike Force, as indicated in a Pawtucket Police Department Complaint Report dated April 21, 1994.
2. Other violations of the liquor laws, drug trafficking laws and other laws of the State of Rhode Island.
THE COUNCIL REQUESTS THAT THE PAWTUCKET POLICE PICK UP THE LICENSE IMMEDIATELY, THIS EVENING.

With majority consent of the Council, Council President Barry permits the following objectors to the Dante Alighieri Social Club to speak:
Maria Carvalho, 73 Forest Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Ms. Carvalho states that this is the fourth time she has appeared before the Board regarding trouble at the Dante Club; and this is the second time under this management. She states that on September 20, 1993, fighting occurred between 12:30 a.m. and 1:00 a.m., which required police and rescue services. On May 7, 1994, there was a riot between 12:45 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. There are problems with loud music. On May 15, 1994, there was loud music until 3:00 a.m.
Ms. Carvalho submits a petition which is made part of the Record.
The next speaker is Joseph Moitoso, 85 Forest Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Mr. Moitoso states there have been problems with the Club since he has lived there. There are problems after 1:00 a.m. with noise.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR BRAY.
With majority consent of the Council, Upon Motion made by Councilor Bray, seconded by Councilor Kinder, the Class D (First Class) liquor license of the Dante Alighieri Social Club, 22 Hurley Avenue is SUSPENDED for a period of two (2) days beginning at 12:01 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 1994, and ending at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, May 30, 1994, on a unanimous voice vote, for the following reasons:
1. Disturbances at the Dante Alighieri Social Club on May 8, 1994.
2. Other violations of the liquor laws, and other laws of the State of Rhode Island and City of Pawtucket.
ALSO, THE FOLLOWING STIPULATIONS ARE ADDED TO THE CLASS D (FIRST CLASS) LIQUOR LICENSE OF THE DANTE ALIGHIERI SOCIAL CLUB, 22 HURLEY AVENUE, PAWTUCKET, RI:
1. Off-duty police officer shall be hired every Saturday, between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. and at all times when there is entertainment.
2. Must have an entertainment license for all Club functions.
3. Officer of Club must be present at all functions.
Upon Motion made by Councilor Kinder, seconded by Councilor Demopulos, the meeting is adjourned at eight fifty o’clock p.m.
