A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, June 9, 1993, at seven thirty-three o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Pawtucket, RI. All the Members are present except Councilor Rabbitt; Chairman Barry presides.
The reading of the Records of May 19, 1993, is dispensed with and the Records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.
THE FOLLOWING APPLICATION FOR TRANSFER WAS LAID ON THE TABLE AT THE MEETING HELD MAY 5, 1993, AND IS AGAIN TAKEN UP:

With majority consent of the Council, Councilor Vieira introduces the following:
Petition of the residents on Garden Street objecting to the granting of a liquor license to El Castillo Restaurant, Inc., 3 Garden Street; and
Copy of Rhode Island General Law 3-7-19 - Objection by adjouining property owners - Proximity to Church, etc.
Upon Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Kinder, the following documents are READ AND ORDERED FILED:

Upon Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Kinder the ruling of President Barry is upheld on a Roll Call Vote, as follows:
Ayes - Councilors Bray, Calista, Clement, Doyle, Kinder, Moran, and Vieira.
Noes - 0.
Abstain - President Barry.
Upon Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Kinder, the following application for license is DENIED on a unanimous voice vote:

The Clerk is instructed to send a Communication to Richard E. DeLyon, Chief of Police, requesting that he meet with the representatives from OSRAM Sylvania Company, (formerly GTE) to try to resolve the problems regarding their request for a picnic.

Decision of Liquor Control Administration in the matter of the Dante Alighieri Social Club to provide security for any and all special functions at the Club & also on every Saturday night from 9 PM until Closing.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to the Rhode Island Liquor Control Administrator requesting an opinion on the 200 foot rule regarding proximity to a Church. In particular, does this law refer to only new locations of an establishment serving liquor, or does it also affect transfers of licenses to locations which currently have liquor establishments in them.
