January 20, 1993

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, January 20, 1993, at seven forty o’clock p.m., in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. All the members are present and Chairman Barry presides.

 

The reading of the records of January 6, 1993, is taken up:

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MORAN.

 

With majority consent of the Council, Councilor Moran requests that the minutes of the meeting of January 6, 1993, be amended on Page 248 #2 to add the word “felonious” between “the” and “assault”.

 

Upon Motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Kinder, the reading of the minutes of the meeting of January 6, 1993, AS AMENDED, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepare by the Clerk.

 

Communication from Joseph Raheb, Esq. to Ms. Kate Racine, Liquor Control Administrator, requesting Appeal and Stay of Decision to Suspend Class B (Victualer) liquor license of K.L.C. Associates, Inc., d/b/a Macondo, 242 Middle Street is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

Communication from Frank Milos, Attorney, Law Department, regarding the Denial of Request for Stay by the Liquor Control Administrator in the matter of the Suspension of K.L.C. Associates, Inc., d/b/a Macondo, 242 Middle Street is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

Report of the meeting held among the owner and abutters of Class B (Victualer) liquor license of Voutena, Inc., d/b/a Bootlegger’s Saloon, 852-856 Newport Avenue IS TAKEN UP:

 

Mr. Frank Balkum, an abutting property owner, states that Mr. Karamanolis, the license holder, refuses to speak to him, but spoke to the other neighbors at the meeting and no specific plans for the establishment were given.

 

Communication from Frank A. Rendine, Director of Zoning & Code Enforcement, regarding renovations at the Class B (Victualer) liquor establishment operating under the name of Joseph DeAngelis d/b/a Central Avenue Grill, 836 Central Avenue is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MORAN.

 

With majority consent of the Council, the following Motion by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Calista, is passed on a unanimous voice vote:

 

The Clerk is instructed to notify Mr. DeAngelis to attend the next meeting of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners on February 10, 1993 to discuss the plans for renovations at the liquor establishment at 836 Central Avenue.

 

Councilor Moran is further requesting that Mr. DeAngelis bring a schematic of the parking area for both plans; also, no renovations are to take place until the plans are approved by the Board of License Commissioners.

 

Upon Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Kinder, the meeting is adjourned at seven fifty o’clock p.m.
