June 10, 1992.

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, June 10, 1992, at eight two o’clock p.m. All the members are present and Chairman Barry presides.

 

The reading the records of May 20, 1992, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

 

Communication from the City Solicitor’s Office regarding LIFTING OF THE STAY to operate as of May 26, 1992, on the American Polish Mutual Association IS READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

Communication from Kate Racine, Liquor Control Administrator regarding “multiple businesses operating at one location” IS READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

Communication from Jack Gannon, City Solicitor to Councilor William Vieira regarding the effects on the liquor license of a felony conviction IS READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

Communication from Alido Baldera, regarding his resignation from the Presidency of the Latin American Association IS READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

Communication from Churrasqueira Da Beira, Inc., 434 Broadway, requesting permission for a seasonal enclosed patio to be added to the establishment IS READ AND ORDERED FILED AND THE REQUEST FOR PERMISSION FOR A SEASONAL ENCLOSED PATIO TO BE ADDED TO THE ESTABLISHMENT IS LAID ON THE TABLE.

 

COUNCILOR BARRY RELINQUISHES THE CHAIR AND EXCUSES HIMSELF FROM THE COUNCIL CHAMBER.

 

COUNCILOR CALISTA PRESIDES.

 

The following application was LAID ON THE TABLE at the meeting of May 20, 1992, AND IS AGAIN TAKEN UP AT THIS TIME:

 

CLASS B (Victualer)

 

El Nido Ltd. (transfer from *Arcadia Enterprises Inc. d/b/a Galateo) 210 Dexter Street. LIC#143

 

*STIPULATIONS IMPOSED AT THE DECEMBER 19, 1990, MEETING

 

1.         Mr. Rocchio or his son will be in attendance and run the establishment while it is open.

 

2.         That there are 2 detail officers on duty, and a parking lot attendant at all times, ***WHEN CLUB METRO IS BEING USED. ***

 

3.         That for each additional 100 persons over two hundred in attendance there will be an additional police officer on duty.

 

Speaking in favor is Michael Devane, Attorney, 74-76 East Street. Mr. Devane is representing the applicant.

 

Mr. Devane states that he has spoken with Kate Racine, Liquor Control Administrator, and that she understood that the applicant intended to serve alcohol at both the restaurant and the lounge.

 

Mr. Devane also states that Mr. Baldera has been replaced as President by the Vice President of The Latin American Association, Elizabeth Zulleta.

 

Mr. Devane continues by stating that Paul Rheaume is the majority stockholder of El Nido Inc. and that The Latin American Association Inc. is the minority stockholder.

 

Also speaking in favor is Elizabeth Zulletta, 16 Payton St. Providence, President of the Latin American Association Inc.

 

Ms. Zulleta states that she has been President of the Association for 4 months and that the elections are held yearly.

 

Ms. Zulleta also states that she will have a BCI Check done and will place her name on the license.

 

There are no other speakers.

 

The hearing is closed.

 

Upon Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Clement, the following application for license is LAID ON THE TABLE on a unanimous voice vote:

Saint Anthony’s Church to sell beer and wine at a festival at 25-27 Forest Avenue, Friday, June 12, 1992, from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Saturday, June 13, 1992, from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Sunday, June 14, 1992, from, 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm. LIC#9

 

Upon Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilors Bray and Kinder, the meeting is adjourned at eight thirty-twenty two o’clock p.m.
