A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, July 22, 1992, at eight five o’clock p.m. All the members are present and Chairman Barry presides.

 

The reading the records of July 8, 1992, is taken up.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MORAN.

 

With majority consent of the Council, Councilor Moran requests that the minutes of the meeting of July 8, 1992, be amended on Page 196 to reflect that the introduction of Claims was made by Councilor Vieira and not by Councilor Moran.

 

Upon Motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Vieria, the reading of the minutes of the meeting of July 8, 1992, AS AMENDED, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

 

Communication from Kate Racine, Liquor Control Administrator, regarding Class B (Victualer) Liquor License of Jan’s Place, 58-60 Middle Street IS READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

Communication from Kate Racine, Liquor Control Administrator, regarding Castanheira Associates, Inc. d/b/a Fernando’s Liquors, 558 Broadway IS READ AND ORDERED FILED.

With majority consent of the Council, the following Motions made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Vieira, are passed on a unanimous voice vote:

 

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Lt. Peter O’Neill, Fire Marshall, requesting an inspection of Benefit Street Pub, Inc. d/b/a Benefit Street Pub, 433 1/2 Benefit Street regarding any fire code violations. A response is requested in time for the meeting of August 5, 1992.

 

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Frank Rendine, Director of Zoning & Code Enforcement, requesting an inspection of Benefit Street Pub, Inc. d/b/a Benefit Street Pub, 433 1/2 Benefit Street regarding their kitchen facilities. A response is requested in time for the meeting of August 5, 1992.

Speaking in favor is Victoria Amaral, 98 Summitt Street.

 

Ms. Amaral States that there will be no change in operation.

 

Ms. Amaral also states that the present license holder, Berta P. Amaral, has been in business there for 30 years and that Berta P. Amaral is her mother-in-law.

 

Ms. Amaral states that there is a full kitchen.

 

There are no other speakers.

 

The HEARING is closed.
