April 8, 1992.

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, April 8, 1992, at seven thirty-seven o’clock p.m. All the members are present except Councilors Doyle and Rabbitt, and Chairman Barry presides.

 

The reading of the records of March 25, 1992, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

 

Claim of Eastern Utilities Blackstone Valley Electric Company against the transfer of Class B Victualer liquor license of Arcadia Enterprises Inc. d/b/a Galateo of 210 Dexter Street to El Nido Ltd., in the amount of $849.22 IS READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

The following application for license which was advertised for a Public Hearing at this time IS STRICKEN FROM THE DOCKET WITHOUT PREJUDICE AT THE REQUEST OF ATTORNEY MICHAEL DEVANE, REPRESENTING THE APPLICANT, ON A UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE.

 

CLASS B (Victualer)

 

El Nido Ltd. (transfer from *Arcadia Enterprises Inc. d/b/a Galateo) 210 Dexter Street.

 

*STIPULATIONS IMPOSED AT THE DECEMBER 19, 1990, MEETING

 

1.         Mr. Rocchio or his son will be in attendance and run the establishment while it is open.

 

2.         That there are 2 detail officers on duty, and a parking lot attendant at all times, ***WHEN CLUB METRO IS BEING USED. ***

 

3.         That for each additional 100 persons over two hundred in attendance there will be an additional police officer on duty.

 

Communication from Detective Sgt. Robert Byron to Richard J. Goldstein, City Clerk regarding Class A License #6 of Castanheira Associates Inc. d/b/a Fernando’s Liquors, 558 Broadway IS READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR VIEIRA

 

With majority consent of the Council, the following Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Kinder is passed on a unanimous voice vote:

 

The Clerk is instructed to notify Antonio Castanheira, President of Castanheira Associates Inc. d/b/a Fernando’s Liquors, 558 Broadway to appear before the Board of License Commissioner, for a FORMAL HEARING scheduled for April 22, 1992, regarding the selling of alcoholic beverages to minors.

 

Communication from Detective Sgt. Robert Byron to Richard J. Goldstein, City Clerk regarding Class B Victualer License #72 of K.L.C. Associates Inc. d/b/a Macondo, 242 Middle Street IS READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MORAN

 

With majority consent of the Council, the following Motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Vieira is passed on a unanimous voice vote:

 

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Kenneth Clauson, President, Mr. Robert Thibeault, and Mr. Morales of K.L.C. Associates Inc. d/b/a Macondo, 242 Middle Street, asking them to appear at a Pre Council session scheduled for April 22, 1992, and requesting them to bring a copy of their menu.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MORAN

 

With majority consent of the Council, the following Motion made by Councilor Moran, Seconded by Councilor Vieira is passed on a unanimous voice vote.

 

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Lt. Peter O’Neill requesting that he inspect Macondo’s for its capacity in time for the meeting of April 22, 1992

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MORAN

 

With majority consent of the Council, the following Motion made by Councilor Moran, Seconded by Councilor Vieira is passed on a unanimous voice vote

 

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Detective Sgt. Byron, Special Squad, requesting a report on any activities at K.L.C. Associates Inc. d/b/a Macondo in time for the meeting of April 22, 1992

 

Communication from Richard E. DeLyon, Commander of Police to Director Houle, Chief Tomlinson, All Platoons, All Dispatchers regarding complaints - Liquor Licenses IS READ AND ORDERED FILED

 

Upon Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Calista, the meeting is adjourned at seven fourty-seven o’clock p.m.
